The City Council unanimously adopted a three-year collective bargaining agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police, Ohio Labor Council Incorporated, covering police division officers. City Manager John Russell told the council negotiations were professional and that both sides worked constructively toward the agreement.
Russell said the contract was discussed in executive session the prior week and praised the patrol union's negotiating team. "Negotiations are never easy... I think we've got an agreement that we can live with here for the next 3 years," John Russell said. The council recorded a unanimous vote in favor of the measure.
