Jason presented a commercial TIF ordinance for KE Rose, a business at 4595 Chambersburg Road in Huber Heights. He said KE Rose constructed a 5,200-square-foot facility with $900,000 in private investment; staff estimate the project will enable five new hires and generate roughly $9,000 a year in income tax revenue. Jason asked council to waive the second reading and pass the ordinance as an emergency so the county filing would secure TIF capture for the full term.
Council members asked why the emergency status was requested if construction is complete; legal counsel and staff explained filing with the county earlier preserves the full term of TIF revenue. The item was moved to Monday for a second reading and potential adoption as emergency legislation.
