The Planning & Zoning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of a conditional use permit for iSMASH, a proposed indoor commercial-amusement venue at 3090 Justin Road Suite 310, the commission chair announced. Autumn Amen, community development coordinator, told the commission the leased space is about 4,900 square feet and that the draft ordinance requires the space to be soundproofed before final occupancy.
Co-owner and manager Rupa Seshadri presented the franchise-backed concept as a family-friendly, alcohol-free entertainment venue offering supervised smash rooms and splatter-paint activities. "We are very excited to be here," she said, describing the business as safety-focused with franchisor training and operations manuals. Commissioners asked about safety protocols, paint cleanup, parking and occupancy; staff and the applicants said they had submitted material safety data sheets for the paint and that cleanup facilities would be provided.
Autumn Amen said the CUP requires applicants to meet relevant building-code and city ordinance requirements and noted that the applicant must submit building plans and obtain finish-out permits. A commissioner moved to recommend approval "as submitted" and another seconded; the motion passed unanimously and the commission will forward the recommendation to City Council for final action.
