Fire district pursues Forest Service and foundation grants to replace aging grass units

Fire Chief Kyle Shockley told the board that a Forest Service grant application for $21,000 has been submitted; the application calls for a 50% match (about $11,500 each). Chief Shockley and Assistant Chief Armbrust also said they will prepare an application to the Arnie & Georgie Foundation to request funds specifically for replacing two aging 2004-model grass units.
Separately, members discussed whether donations should be held in a separate association with its own taxpayer identification number; the board agreed to begin researching whether a separate TIN and structure would be appropriate for long-term donation management.
