Board members reported that grass unit 9103 has been completed and was brought to Medora for members to inspect; the unit was judged ready for service contingent on adding handholds behind the cab to improve operator safety. Work on Unit 7432 (donated by the Park Service) is nearing completion and includes tool boxes, a hose reel, bed features, a grill guard and updates to wiring and lighting; labor for those upgrades is being provided by the Cody Reis family.
The board also noted a replacement chainsaw remains to be purchased as part of an approved NDIRF insurance claim. Chief Shockley and Assistant Chief Armbrust said they will continue procurement and safety checks before returning units to full service.
