Vernon County fills committees and boards in annual organizational voting

The Vernon County Board of Supervisors completed its annual slate of committee and trustee appointments during the April 16 organizational meeting, filling multiple two- and three-year terms through roll-call and secret ballots.
On the Infrastructure Committee, Supv Goede won the western-district seat (14–3), Supv Olson was cast unanimously for the central district, and Supv Wilson won the eastern seat (13–5). Two at-large Infrastructure seats went to Supv Jacobson (15–3) and Supv Schweiger (16–2). The Conservation & Education Committee’s five board seats were resolved over several ballots; notable results included Supv Beitlich securing a seat on the first ballot, Supv Henry prevailing on a second ballot over Supv Easterday, and Supv Slack winning a runoff over Supv Eggen.
Human Services & Veterans Service vacancies were filled: Supv Sullivan was cast for a three-year term, Supv Lawler was selected to fill a three-year vacancy, Supv Strudthoff will complete a two-year term, and citizen member Jean Klousia won a three-year seat (12–6 over Dennis Brault). At the Vernon Manor Board of Trustees, board and citizen vacancies were also filled, including Kristine Brueggen as the citizen trustee for 2024–2027 (11–8 over Ole Yttri).
The votes were conducted during the meeting and recorded in the minutes; several seats were determined by multiple ballots where no candidate initially received a majority.
