The city announced the public launch of its new mobile app, My WestminsterMD, which lets residents register to submit service requests and receive city notifications.
IT staff said the app has been officially unveiled in the prior week and that downloads are occurring; staff encouraged residents to register to gain full access to features such as reporting potholes, requesting bulky-trash pickup, submitting anonymous tips to the police, and notifying code-enforcement staff. "It is My WestminsterMD... you can make requests on the app to do everything from request bulk pickup for your trash items to submit something to the police department," the IT representative said.
Council members praised the rollout and asked about discoverability; staff said the app is listed on the city website and can be found in Google Play and the Apple App Store by searching "My WestminsterMD." Staff also recommended that council and city staff promote the app as an alternative to phone calls for routine service requests.
