The Hutto Economic Development Corporation reviewed and approved its proposed fiscal year 2027 operating budget and forwarded it to city council for consideration. Staff highlighted that two new recurring items in the EDC budget would help keep resident costs lower: the EDC proposed taking on debt service for Kruger Boulevard (previously called Spine Road), an annual obligation staff estimated at roughly $700,000, and repayment to the city for a utility‑fund contribution of about $6,000,000.
Board members discussed priorities, discretionary line items and trade‑show attendance; staff clarified that discretionary items would still require separate board approval before expenditure. After discussion the board moved to approve Resolution R HEDC‑2026‑38 to approve the FY27 budget and recommend it to City Council; the motion passed 5–0. Staff will present the approved EDC budget to council and note that council retains final approval authority.
