WRD to seek County direction on cost-share for Murray Drain No. 17 bridge work

Managers reviewed planned improvements for Murray Drain No. 17, which include work on Bridge Nos. 223, 292 and 304. Moore continues coordinating cost estimates and cost-share calculations. Manager Jason Lovas will attend the Traill County Commission meeting on Feb. 17 to present the project, review the proposed improvements and ask whether the Commission prefers having its share included in the WRD bond issue authorized by the 2025 joint powers agreement or making an up-front, lump-sum payment.
Board discussion noted two funding pathways: (1) include the Commission’s share in the WRD bond issue under the 2025 joint powers agreement, or (2) Commission makes a one-time lump-sum payment. No final funding decision was made at the Feb. 3 meeting; Moore will return updated cost figures for consideration at the Feb. 17 meeting.
