County orders closure of failing Galesburg Township Bridge No. 399

Chairman Jason Siegert opened the Traill County Water Resource District meeting on Feb. 3, 2026, where Corwyn Martin of the Traill County Highway Department reported that Galesburg Township Bridge No. 399 is failing and that the County Commissioners directed the Highway Department to close the bridge until repairs can be completed.
Managers discussed the operational impact and timing. Manager Joel Halvorson noted the Elm River Joint WRD meets at 9:30 a.m. the same day to coordinate watershed-level responses. The board recorded the closure as a safety measure; no repair contract or funding timetable was provided at the meeting.
