Road supervisor reports 4-day workweek, gravel plans and temporary Mouse River Park access repairs
Summary
Road Supervisor Sean Mattern told the Board the department moved to four 10-hour days beginning May 5, is placing gravel on county roads (CR 9, and scheduled CRs 1, 4 and 7), and will make interim repairs and install 20- or 25-mph signs at the Mouse River Park access until full repair this fall by Farden Construction.
Sean Mattern, Renville County Road Supervisor, reported the department started a four-day, 10-hour work schedule on May 5 to support seasonal projects. Mattern said graveling is underway on County Road 9 and that County Roads 1, 4 and 7 are scheduled to receive gravel.
Mattern also briefed the Board on the west access to Mouse River Park: Wold Engineering had been consulted, but Farden Construction will not perform major work until fall. In the interim Mattern said Road staff will perform repairs and will place temporary speed-limit signs of 20 or 25 mph along the access road for the summer.
The Board also authorized a utility permit for Burke-Divide Electric to bore under County Road 3 and approved a three-year GIS service agreement with Sidwell during the May meetings. These road and infrastructure items were handled as routine business by unanimous vote.
