Sheriff asks to use asset forfeiture funds for body cameras; board notes review committee

Renville County Sheriff Roger Hutchinson told the Board on Jan. 7 that the department has taken delivery of a new 2023 Ford Expedition that will be outfitted for patrol use. Hutchinson also asked the Board to consider using Asset Forfeiture funds to help purchase body-worn cameras for the department.
The minutes state that Sheriff Hutchinson, State's Attorney Seymour Jordan and Auditor LeAnn Pollman form the committee that approves allocations from the Asset Forfeiture Fund. The request was entered into the record; the minutes do not show the Board approving a specific expenditure at that meeting.
