The Renville County Board of Commissioners heard an update Feb. 4 from Ryan Ackerman and Sabrina Herrmann of Ackerman-Estvold Engineering that the bid for replacing the bridge at Mouse River Park has been awarded and that the firm is awaiting contract negotiations.
"The bid for the replacement of the bridge at Mouse River Park has been awarded," Ackerman told the board and said the plan is to complete the work this summer. The engineers also discussed the possible removal of a closed bridge north of the park as part of overall site planning.
County officials did not record a final contract signing for the bridge replacement in the minutes; Ackerman indicated only that contract negotiations remain pending. The update was delivered as part of a broader Souris River Joint Board briefing; the board did not take separate formal action on the bridge replacement during the Feb. 4 meeting.
Next procedural steps described in the minutes were contract negotiations and scheduling; the board recorded related project discussion elsewhere on the agenda, including a related West Access Road project at Mouse River Park.
