The Renville County Board of Commissioners voted to purchase the former Mohall City Hall for $160,000, payable in four equal annual payments of $40,000. The motion was moved by Commissioner Rick Haman, seconded by Commissioner Jamee Hansen, and carried by a unanimous vote.
Mohall Mayor Tom Witteman had asked the Board to increase the county's offer by $9,750, but the Board held firm at $160,000 and the mayor accepted those terms. The Board recorded the payment arrangement and authorized the County Auditor to process the transaction as part of the audited claims.
The approval was part of routine May business; the Board recorded the motion and vote during the May 8 meeting. The next administrative step is for the County Auditor to draw warrants for the transaction under the county's claims procedure.
