The Vernon County Board unanimously reaffirmed the Vernon County Multi‑Hazard Mitigation Plan 2023–2028 on Aug. 15 by adopting Resolution 2024‑41. Emergency Management Director Brandon Larson gave an overview of the plan and described recent updates coordinated with municipalities, fire departments and county departments; the Mississippi Regional Planning Commission assisted in the update.
Supv Stanek moved to adopt Resolution 2024‑41 and Supv Muller seconded; the minutes record a unanimous voice vote in favor. The minutes also note that an adopted hazard mitigation plan is a condition for future mitigation grant funding, and county staff encouraged municipalities and departments to list potential mitigation projects for inclusion in the plan.
