Trustees to co-sponsor 'Other Words' readings; Friends report strong volunteer support and new programs

The Board of Library Trustees voted unanimously to co-sponsor three 'Other Words' poetry readings on Aug. 29, Sept. 26 and Oct. 24 and agreed to request one-day wine and beer licenses for those dates. Co-Chairs will complete license requests and send certificates to the Friends ahead of the Aug. 29 event.
The Friends reported that new volunteer Jan Conn has been an effective addition and that a new Mahjong for Beginners series filled quickly. Trustees noted that Friends and library staff work closely on programming and welcomed the opportunity to co-sponsor additional events.
Trustees also agreed to begin recruiting two to three people to expand Friends capacity for Ramsdell-focused activity while most Friends activity currently takes place at Mason.
