Alternatives study sent for review; design team sets Dec. 31 deadline for historical MOU package
Summary
Trustees distributed a revised Alternatives Study to the Historical Commission, the MBLC director, and the Town Manager with a request for comments by July 24; the PDR architect urged a tight review timeline so a final package can be mailed to the Massachusetts Historical Commission and an MOU developed by Dec. 31, 2026.

The trustees reviewed and slightly revised the Alternatives Study for the Ramsdell Public Library and distributed it with a covering memo to Malcolm Fick (Chair, Historical Commission), Maureen Amyot (Director, Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners), and Town Manager Hartsgrove, requesting comments by July 24, 2026.
At the June 12 design-team meeting the lead PDR architect recommended a short comment turnaround so staff can compile and prepare a final package to send via USPS to the Massachusetts Historical Commission for MOU development; the design team noted a project deadline of Dec. 31, 2026 for the package. Trustees recorded updates to funding-status language and small editorial revisions to the study.
Next steps: trustees expect to receive comments by July 24 and to work with the historical commission and MBLC toward the MOU process and subsequent schematic-design phase ahead of construction.
