Council approves $164,009 authorization for Lower Selmaier Park playground

Councilmember (Committee member, S6) moved to approve a purchase authorization of up to $164,009 to include option E plus an alternate for $13,500; a 5% contingency was approved on top of that amount. The chair (Chair, S11) called the question and the motion passed 6–0. Council discussion emphasized the playground's multi-generational design and warranty comparisons: staff noted GameTime's synthetic turf carries a 15-year warranty, a central factor in the recommendation.
Staff said the procurement will proceed through the cooperative contract identified in the resolution and that Parks will demo the existing equipment to reduce costs. Installation timing will be coordinated with the construction schedule and contingency funds held for unforeseen site work.
