Resident urges faster response on maintenance: reflectors, sprinklers and street repairs
Summary
Wayne Parker told council he had filed complaints about missing reflectors on Brazos medians and repeated sprinkler activity near Selmeyer Lane pickleball courts with no follow-up; he also asked why modest park amenities such as horseshoe pits were denied while larger park renovations proceed and flagged sinking pavement on Sellmeyer between Brazos and Merryman.

During visitor comments, Wayne Parker (342 Doubletree Drive) raised several maintenance and quality-of-life concerns and said he had not received follow-up from city staff after filing complaints. Parker told council he observed sprinklers running on Selmeyer Lane in early May at midday and that Public Works returned only voicemail when he called; he said he filed an online complaint and did not hear back. "I called Public Works and of course, as usual, I got a voicemail," Parker said, asking how residents can get timely responses.
Parker also asked why a Parks Board request for horseshoe pits at Doubletree Ranch had been denied while the city considers larger park renovation expenditures, and he reported deteriorated pavement on Sellmeyer between Brazos and Doubletree that he said threatens vehicle damage. The mayor thanked him for bringing the items to the record and staff acknowledged the concerns for follow-up.
