IGA also described federal work supporting the World Cup and said national appropriations secured about $625,000,000 in host‑community funds, with local host communities receiving a share of that support.
When asked which offsets would be most damaging, IGA said cuts to personnel or legislative‑specialist contracts would harm core operations and reduce the county’s ability to advocate for or obtain funding. IGA noted that more than 90% of its budget is labor and contracts and that the office has little “fat” to cut without impairing service.
Next steps: IGA requested preservation of core staffing and contractual capacity and asked the court to consider a single additional administrative support position to sustain ongoing workflows. Commissioners asked IGA and OMB for clear options for offsets that minimize damage to legislative and appropriations functions.
