Board authorizes VFW gaming site, makes committee appointments and retains interest in General Fund

The Board approved a gaming site authorization for Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1326 at Whiskey Flats covering July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. The motion passed on a roll call vote with Commissioners Ruland, Rice, Olson, DeGroot and Hollekim voting yes.
The Board also approved appointments of Joan Hollekim and Greg Boschee to the County Committee Schools for three‑year terms and discussed whether interest earnings should be returned to special funds or remain in the General Fund. Auditor Stephanie A. Pappa led the discussion on funds and balances and the Board decided to keep interest within the General Fund.
