County awards $1.15M west-access road contract to Mayo Construction; state and federal funding involved

Renville County accepted the low bid from Mayo Construction for Project SC-3816(001), the west access road to Mouse River Park, at a low bid of $1,150,704.37. Jason Mayfield of Wold Engineers presented the bid results; the county recorded Special Road Funds of $137,447.03 toward the project and indicated Federal Aid funds will also be used. The Board adopted the contract award resolution at its April 24 meeting.
Mayfield also reported that the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) will add $150,000 to the county's Safety Project funding to cover striping and rumble strips for roads included in that project; the Safety Project bid opening was set for June 6, 2025. The minutes show the county moving forward with engineering and financing plans for the Mouse River Park west access road.
