At the Sept. 17 meeting the Renville County Board approved $64,916 as the county's share of the 2025 salary for the DES (emergency services) coordinator. Commissioners recorded that Bottineau County will contribute $19,138.00 toward that salary. The motion to approve Renville County's portion passed by a unanimous vote.
The Board directed that both counties address the memorandum of understanding governing the shared position at the start of the 2026 budget process in May 2025. The discussion and vote were recorded as part of the preliminary budget hearing, which drew no public attendees at the 10:00 a.m. hearing on Sept. 17.
