Bottineau and Renville commissioners discuss shifting DES coordinator cost share

Renville County commissioners and Bottineau County Commissioner Nathaniel Buynak discussed the inter-county cost-share for the Disaster Emergency Services (DES) coordinator at the Aug. 20 meeting. Kristy Titus, who serves as DES Coordinator for both counties, said the current salary split is 80% Renville County and 20% Bottineau County; Commissioner Andy Gates suggested a 60/40 split going forward because of changes in duties.
Commissioner Buynak said he would take the suggested change back to the Bottineau County Board for consideration and inform the Renville County auditor of the outcome. The minutes record the discussion as part of inter-county staffing and cost-allocation talks.
