The Renville County Board of Commissioners voted Aug. 6 to accept the First District Health Unit's (FDHU) 2025 funding request. FDHU Director Holly Brekhus told the board the county share requested for the 2025 budget is $66,953, an increase of $3,233 from the prior year; the board approved the request.
Commissioner Jamee Hansen moved to accept the FDHU budget request and Commissioner Andy Gates seconded; the motion carried by a unanimous vote. The funding request was considered in a public hearing that opened at 10:00 a.m. on Aug. 6.
The decision commits the county to the dollar amount presented to commissioners; further budget-level decisions for salaries and broader preliminary budget adoption were handled during the same meeting. The FDHU request and the board's action are recorded in the Aug. 6 minutes on file with the county auditor.
