The Vernon County Board approved Resolution 2024‑04 to lease the County Farm to Mlsna East Town Dairy at $311 per acre for a term running Jan. 1, 2024 through Dec. 31, 2028. Administrative Coordinator Cassie Hanan said six bids were received and the General Government Committee recommended the highest bidder. The resolution includes contingency language naming Falkers Farms as the second choice should the top bidder fail to execute within 30 days.
Motion was made by Supv Yttri and seconded by Supv Muller; on voice vote the motion carried. The resolution includes lease terms, conservation and nutrient‑management requirements, tenant insurance and indemnity obligations, and conditions for early termination and input‑cost reimbursement in the event of sale prior to lease expiration.
