University Park committee recommends clarifying edits to draft Rules of Procedure Article 2

The Town of University Park Policy, Rules & Municipal Structure Committee reviewed Article 2 of a draft Rules of Procedure at its Jan. 26 meeting, focusing on the text beginning at §10 and continuing to the end of the article. The committee recommended removing language it identified as duplicative or confusing and suggested reordering and renumbering provisions to improve clarity.
Members discussed substantive elements of Article 2, including whether the draft should include a preamble, how to frame decorum and civility rules, and procedures for appeals of rulings by the chair. Councilmember Casey Kelby and Administrator Sandlin were noted as identifying specific modifications to be included in a revised rules package for future consideration.
