The Ionia County Board approved the Road Department’s 2024 Transportation Asset Management Plan after a presentation by Road Department Director Linda Pigue.
The board accepted a limestone bid from Yellow Rose and approved an HMA paving bid from Capital Asphalt as recommended by Pigue. The board also approved a dust-control bid from S&M Tire Fills. Additionally, commissioners authorized the Road Department Director to purchase two pickup trucks at a cost not to exceed $93,000; the motion to authorize the purchases was moved by Commissioner Larry Tiejema and supported by Commissioner Gordon Kelley and carried by voice vote.
These actions were recorded under New Business and are intended to support the county’s 2024 roadwork and operations plan.
