Traill County approves purchase of Central Square dispatch system; ARPA funds reallocated

Traill County commissioners on March 3 approved the sheriff’s request to purchase the Central Square computerized dispatch and records management system.
Sheriff Steve Hunt told the board the Central Square system would replace the department’s current CAD/RMS and that implementation and first-year costs are significant. Hunt said Traill County could participate under Walsh County as a child agency to reduce expenses and that Steele County would share costs if approved. Hunt asked that funds be reallocated from the ARPA Highway Project to the ARPA Sheriff Technology fund to help pay for the system; the motion to approve the purchase and proceed carried (motion by Amb, seconded by Nesvig).
