Traill County will draft floodplain ordinance for state review, commission authorizes submission

The Traill County Board of Commissioners heard from KLJ about the need for a new county floodplain ordinance and authorized staff to begin the formal submission and adoption process.
Matt Lange of KLJ informed the commission that Traill County will need to adopt a new floodplain ordinance. The board approved allowing Lange to submit a draft copy to the State and to proceed with final adoption after review by State’s Attorney Charlie Stock.
No timeline for final adoption was recorded in the minutes; the matter will return to the board for additional review and action after State and legal review.
