The Traill County Water Resource District on Feb. 17 acknowledged that the Traill County Commission agreed to cost-share replacement of Bridges Nos. 223, 292 and 304 on Murray Drain No. 17 under the Commission/WRD joint powers agreement approved in 2025. Manager Jason Lovas and engineer Nathan Trosen attended the Commission meeting to discuss financing; the Commission agreed to pay its share in an up-front, lump-sum payment and Secretary-Treasurer Jessica Spaeth was directed to send an invoice to Corwyn Martin for the preliminary cost estimate.
The Board then approved the quote from TrueNorth Steel for culvert material needed for the replacements (motion by Manager Andy Neset; seconded by Manager Gary Thompson), the motion carrying unanimously. Moore Engineering and project contractors will coordinate procurement and installation steps in subsequent staff work; no construction schedule was finalized at the meeting.
