Board lifts hiring freeze for deputy treasurer, approves schedules and remote training
Summary

The committee approved Resolution 2024‑51 to lift the hiring freeze, allowing the County Treasurer to fill the Chief Deputy Treasurer vacancy; the motion was supported by Commissioner Scott Matley and recorded with no opposition. The board also authorized continuation of the Equalization Director’s current work schedule into 2025 and permitted the Zoning Administrator to train for certifications virtually and work remotely under the direction of the County Administrator/CFO.
Additionally, the board passed a consensus motion to authorize the County Administrator/CFO to work under the direction of the BOC Chair. Commissioners discussed administrative lines of oversight and directed the Administrator to implement the approved schedules and training arrangements with appropriate supervisory reporting to the Chair and County Administrator.
