Board confirms multiple committee appointments and 911 advisory picks

Other appointments approved or noted by Fisher included members for the County Wide Improvement Committee (Annie Wallace, Sherri Sanders, Deborah Hill, Tony Parcher and Patrick Whiteford for one-year terms), the IT Committee (Deborah Hill, Tony Parcher and Patrick Whiteford), the Economic Development Corporation (Deanna Gay and Cash Cook), Natural Rivers Zoning Board (Sally Voorhes and Seth Phillips as alternate), Zoning Board of Appeals (Mike Cox; Robert Mickevicius as PC representative; Stuart McKinnon as alternate PC representative) and several others. Fisher also noted that one Planning Commission vacancy remained.
The board voted to approve Chair Fisher’s list of appointments in a single motion (motion by Matley, supported by Bicum), which carried 6–0 with one absence. The action reconstitutes multiple advisory and oversight bodies that advise county departments and municipal partners; no additional debate or objections were recorded.
The confirmed appointments take effect immediately under the terms announced at the meeting. The board also authorized the continuation of the Jail Steering Committee despite no current jail activity.
