Prosecutor’s Office accepts $2.09 million in Local Prosecutor Support Grants, adds staff to reduce caseloads

Grant periods run from Oct. 1, 2024 through Sept. 30, 2029 (FY 2025 award) and Oct. 1, 2024 through Sept. 30, 2030 (FY 2026 award).
The Prosecutor’s Office intends to use the funding to add one full‑time Assistant Prosecuting Attorney and to convert an existing, vacant High Crime and Community Support grant–funded Paralegal position to Local Prosecutor Support Grant funding. The Board authorized creating the attorney position and reallocating the paralegal role; the Controller/Administrator was authorized to make necessary 2027 budget adjustments.
