The Village of North Bennington Planning Commission voted July 22, 2026 to set an annual fee of $100 for short-term rental registrations under the Short Term Rental Ordinance adopted earlier this year. Commissioner Dan Delurey moved the fee; Commissioner Steve Lenox seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
Co-chair Mary Rogers said she will place the fee-setting and the development of an enforcement process on an upcoming Trustees meeting agenda so the Trustees can determine who is responsible for collecting fees and enforcing compliance. The commission noted that the ordinance references both application fees and self-certification but that Trustees had not previously set specific fee amounts. The commission also scheduled its next meeting for Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026, where follow-up items may be reported.
