Mason students honored for STEM and media students approved to attend national convention
Summary
The board recognized two high school students with Certificates of Merit for STEM achievement and approved media club students to attend the Journalism Educators Association national convention April 16–19, 2026 in Minneapolis.
The board recognized Grace Albright and Zayla Brown with Certificates of Merit from Michigan Technological University’s Society of Women Engineers for excellence in STEM, strong performance in math and science, and active school involvement.
The board also approved a request by Media Club advisor Alison Drougel for high school media students and approved staff to attend the Journalism Educators Association Spring National High School Students Convention in Minneapolis, April 16–19, 2026. The board carried the motion to allow the trip.
