The Box Elder County Commission approved a fee waiver for the Box Elder School District Foundation to use the Fine Arts Building at the county fairgrounds for the Jubilee of Trees fundraiser scheduled Nov. 4–7, 2026. Executive Director Jamie Kent and Superintendent Steve Carlson described how prior-year proceeds were used for laundry soap, clothing and pantry items for students in need and said this year the foundation intends to support transportation and teacher substitutes for arts programming. The applicants confirmed they will provide proof of insurance and take responsibility for cleanup.
Commissioner Bingham moved to approve the fee waiver with the conditions discussed; Commissioner Perry seconded and the motion was carried unanimously. The commission noted that nonprofit fee exemptions or discounted rates may be updated in the future and that the county will communicate any changes to non-profit users of county facilities.
