The Ingham County Board approved entering into Contract #26-5176 with the Michigan Department of Transportation to resurface Aurelius Road from Wilcox Road to Cedar Street in Delhi Charter Township using federal Surface Transportation Program funding.
Under the contract the STP program will cover 80% of eligible construction costs. The resolution lists estimated costs for eligible work (PART A) at $1,806,300 and ineligible construction costs (PART B) at $130,420, giving a pre-contingency project estimate of $1,936,720 (federal $1,445,040; local $491,680). The Board authorized a 20% contingency that increases the total budget to $2,324,064 (federal $1,734,048; Road Department $590,016). The Road Department indicated the local participation is included in the 2026 Road Fund budget.
The contract will be executed under MDOT procedures and the county will sign the associated second‑party agreement required by federal/state funding rules. County staff said construction will proceed under MDOT oversight and that the Road Department will invoice Williamstown and other local partners where applicable for their participation on local projects.
