Airport director reports on Part 139 compliance, enplanement trends and capital projects

Airport Director Miles Weaver presented the Airport Director’s Report on Jan. 12, noting multiple Part 139 inspection items and progress on corrective actions. Weaver reported four compliance issues originally identified; several items were recorded closed, including the vehicle inspection procedure, airport condition reporting and certain TWYA pavement repairs. An audit and replacement plan for airfield signs was noted with a planned correction date of March 31, 2026 for three signs.
Weaver also presented enplanement/deplanement statistics spanning 2020–2025 and reported total enplanements for 2025 as 8,036. On capital projects, the Authority anticipates submitting a new PFC (passenger facility charge) application to the FAA around April 1, 2026; T-hangar door replacement had a design review on Jan. 7, 2026 with Mead & Hunt and H2A, with anticipated grant funding late summer/early fall 2026 and construction in Spring 2027 (bids planned for the first week of February). Weaver noted the new beacon became operational Dec. 22, and manhole covers for electrical ducts have arrived with spring installation planned; the Authority continues coordination with FAA/MDOT and Consumers Energy on reimbursements and power-line solutions.
