The Warrensburg City Council adopted an ordinance establishing the McGuire Street Corridor overlay district after a second reading.
Barbara Carroll, AICP, director of community development, told the council staff had not received additional public comment since the first reading and that the planning and zoning commission recommended approval. "Staff would recommend approval of the ordinance as presented," Carroll said. She noted the ordinance packet included the commission’s recommendation and a map of affected properties.
Councilmembers moved and seconded the ordinance and voted in favor by voice; the motion passed. The ordinance places the McGuire Street corridor under an overlay intended to guide future development and preserve a consistent set of design and land‑use standards for properties in the district. The council did not record extended public debate during the second reading.
The ordinance was placed on the agenda for formal adoption at the meeting; staff said most technical details were available in the council packet from the prior meeting. The council proceeded to the next agenda item after the vote.
