County board bars Drain Commissioner from bidding on LLCS work and plans statewide solicitation

The minutes record that the board required at least three weeks' notice if the Drain Commissioner intends to resign, and that commissioners discussed opening the solicitation statewide on the internet rather than using invitational bidding. Commissioner Rex Wolfsen suggested a broad internet solicitation: "Commissioner Wolfsen suggests opening it up on the internet state wide, and not invitational," according to the record.
No formal bid package or procurement award was made during the special meeting; the board asked staff to prepare an outline of the preferred bid procedure for review at a subsequent meeting.
