Washington County adopts 2026–27 appropriations after failed motion to split Item 9

Commissioner Freddie Malone moved, with Commissioner Jim Wheeler seconding, to divide the question and take a separate motion and vote on Item 9. That procedural motion failed on a roll-call vote: Commissioners Larry England, Freddie Malone, Jodi Jones and Jim Wheeler voted in favor; Commissioners Richard Tucker, Marty Johnson, Jerome Fitzgerald, Josh Edens, Bryan Davenport, Greg Matherly, David Stout, Lewis Wexler, Kenneth Huffine and Ben Carder voted against. Commissioner David Tomita was absent.
Following the failed division motion, Commissioner Richard Tucker moved and Commissioner Ben Carder seconded to adopt the appropriations resolution.
