Commissioner Kim Morley clarified that MIS denotes the county IT department, and Administrator/Controller Shaltz noted that E911 operates on a separate, non-connected server.
Commissioners agreed that the Operating Computer Network in the Courts policy and the Acceptable Use for Information Technology policy would be encompassed by the new consolidated policy and would be superseded once the new policy is adopted. Board members said all new hires would receive training. A formal motion to adopt the Acceptable Use Policy was not made at this meeting; the board expects to present a motion at the next meeting.
