The Roscommon County Board of Commissioners voted April 8 to adopt the county’s 2025–2028 Strategic Plan, a four-goal blueprint that the board approved on a motion by Chair Darlene Sensor, seconded by Commissioner Rex Wolfsen. The roll-call vote recorded ayes from Marc J. Milburn, Kim Morley, Rex Wolfsen and Darlene Sensor; no members voted nay.
The plan lists its vision as “To be the County of Choice, both united and trusted” and identifies four goals: develop and sustain financial strength and stability; increase levels of trust and unity with stakeholders; finalize lake-level management plans and processes; and advocate for social issues that impact Roscommon County. Chair Sensor introduced the motion and sought board adoption; members debated scheduling and priorities earlier in the meeting before voting to approve the document.
Commissioners said they plan to pursue focused follow-up work on priority items. Commissioner Kim Morley emphasized narrowing and condensing the board’s focus to accomplish critical goals and identified landing on a Higgins Lake level management decision as especially urgent. The board did not set new deadlines during the meeting; next steps will be coordinated through work-session scheduling and follow-up reports to the full board.
