Council hears water, sewer and stormwater update; borough cites 2.5% water rate increase

"In January of this year, we raised our water rates by 2.5 percent," Rob said, and he showed a roughly $130,000 year-to-date improvement in water fund comparisons between 06/30/2025 and 06/30/2026. He noted the billing cycle (Dec. 10 to Jan. 10) can shift when invoices are recorded and cautioned sewer expenses appear high currently because many capital projects require deposits upfront; those invoices will affect timing but are not expected to push final fiscal-year expenses over budget. On stormwater, Rob said curb replacement connected to Front Street paving is the primary expense driver and that the first related payouts were scheduled for the current agenda.
