Residents press town on Hampton Bays parking, post office repaving and Good Ground Park access

Gail Lombardi (speaker 10) criticized town actions concerning the Hampton Bays Fire Department property at 84 West Montauk Highway and urged the board to honor a prior plan reserving part of that parcel as a pedestrian access to Good Ground Park. She questioned the origins of post office repaving projects and asked the board to provide names, emails and meeting minutes showing which residents requested the repaving. Lombardi also criticized an agenda resolution she read as shifting liability for sidewalk snow removal and debris to adjacent residential owners, calling that a policy she opposed.
Suzanne Smith (speaker 15), representing the Hampton Bay Civic Association, asked the board to remind the Planning Board to consider traffic impacts from the proposed Heatherwoods development on Montauk Highway/Main Street (35 apartments) and flagged safety concerns about a proposed propane depot near a busy intersection. Both speakers urged the board to coordinate with the Planning Board and to provide updates on projects including Punggwog Bridge and Penny Park.
