Jacqueline Fenlon, Director of Community Preservation, told the board the town has been negotiating for some time with Trakis Realty LLC to acquire a 1.7‑acre unimproved parcel at 405 Old Canoe Place Road in the hamlet of Shinnecock Hills to preserve contiguous open space around the Pamukk Path.
Fenlon said the owner has expressed interest in selling the property for $425,000 and that adding the parcel would complete a local preservation pattern and allow modest public access (passive uses, a small parking area, and possibly kayak launch access). She asked the board to consider amending the CPF project plan and stewardship plan to include the site. Board members asked clarifying questions about easements and rights-of-way; there were no Zoom speakers and the board closed the hearing for this item.
