The Palo Alto County Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 6-23-2026 (B) on June 23, authorizing periodic operating transfers from the Rural Services Basic Fund to the Secondary Road Fund not to exceed $2,230,461 during fiscal year 2026–2027.
The resolution specifies the timing of transfers (within five days of notification of property tax apportionments) and sets a calculation using a ratio (.76044 of the fund's total maximum transfer to the sum of the fund's current property tax levy and related receipts) to determine each transfer amount. It also directs the Auditor to correct the books when transfers occur and to notify the County Treasurer and County Engineer of the amounts.
The motion to introduce and approve the resolution passed on a unanimous vote. The resolution includes a safeguard that transfers cannot exceed available fund balances in the transferring fund.
