Palo Alto County adopts $21.56 million FY2027 appropriations, funds local services

Craig Merrill moved to introduce and approve the appropriation resolution; Ron Graettinger seconded and the measure passed with all five supervisors voting aye. County Auditor Carmen Moser is listed in the resolution as attesting to the adoption.
The resolution includes procedural sections that authorize department expenditures within appropriations and directs the Auditor to establish separate accounts to track appropriations, charges and unencumbered balances monthly. It also states that appropriations lapse at the close of business on June 30, 2027. The Board recorded the vote by roll call and the chair declared the resolution duly adopted.
Next steps: departments will operate under the approved limits beginning July 1, 2026; the Auditor will report monthly account status to departments as required by the resolution.
