Longville ambulance reports higher call volume and a slimmer revenue margin despite two new ambulances

Kevin Lee, EMS Relationship Specialist for North Ambulance, presented the Longville Area Subordinate Service District (LASSD) fourth‑quarter report to the Board. Lee said LASSD billed 389 patients in the quarter compared with a budgeted 377 and 357 in the same period in 2024. He reported revenue was unfavorable by $104,000 due to decreased revenue per run, while expenses were $17,000 lower. Lee noted depreciation was higher because a new ambulance entered service, and that two new ambulances are now stationed in Longville.
Lee reported the service margin was 13.5%, above the board’s 10% goal, and said the district may request a subsidy increase for 2027 to maintain financial targets. He provided response‑time breakdowns for the quarter: 28.28% of calls responded to within 10 minutes, 70.27% within 20 minutes and 90.54% within 30 minutes, and explained that road conditions and call volumes affect those figures. Lee also noted North Ambulance took over Medical Control of Remer Ambulance on March 1 and identified destination hospitals by count (Brainerd: 107; Bemidji: 79; Crosby: 95; Deer River: 41; Grand Rapids: 22; Park Rapids: 21; Cass Lake: 10; AirCare: 10).
